Mari Leoncio began playing guitar at the age of seven in her hometown of Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Her passion for music started during a local talent show, where she first stepped onto a stage, discovering a love for performing. As she grew older, her dedication to become and instrumentalist grew. Throughout high school, Mari actively immersed herself in the local music scene, playing alongside fellow musicians in the Nevada area at festivals, school events, and farmers markets. She was inspired by her guitar teacher, a Berklee College of Music alum, whose mentorship lead Mari to set her sights on attending Berklee herself. Upon graduating, she moved to Boston to pursue her musical education.

At Berklee, Mari began building a community of musicians, learning and collaborating with artists across various genres. She participated in performances, including the Miley Cyrus Ensemble and Gradfest 2023, showcasing her talents and ability to play multiple genres. Mari built a network of connections, working with a wide array of independent artists such as Axel & Lolo, Marilyn Simone, Cohle Smith, Julia Honnen, Nancia, Kaia Mac, Lauren Merenda, and Maggie MacKenzie.

Now based in Boston, Mari remains an active figure in the local music scene. She’s involved in exciting projects both in the studio and on stage, constantly pushing creative boundaries. Her next project takes her to Nashville, Tennessee, where she’ll be recording with Axel & Lolo in January 2025. Looking ahead, Mari aims to expand her community and bring her music to Los Angeles.

Mari is passionate about building a supportive community of like-minded musicians and friends who share her vision and can collaborate to drive her career forward. With each performance and project, she continues to grow as an artist, leaving a mark on those she works with.
